Speaker Bios:

Laura Moore, CWPC serves as Health Management Consultant for MMA. In this role, Ms. Moore is responsible for partnering with clients and their respective account teams by evaluating available data to identify behaviors
that influence or compromise employee’s health; identify factors that inspire
learning or those that hinder or foster the client’s total population health through
the process of health education and well-being programs.

Ms. Moore has 20 years of employee health and benefits experience.
This includes benefits and well-being management and working for
Cigna Healthcare as a Senior Engagement Consultant in their Mid-Atlantic
Region where she served as a health improvement subject matter expert. In
her experience she collaborated with clients in analyzing their benefit plan(s)
utilization data to address client specific well-being needs, creating strategic
health improvement plans and spearheading customer engagement initiatives.

Kate Valette, RN, BSN    Virginia Clinical Consultant Client & Customer Services

Kate Valette is a clinical consultant for Marsh & McLennan Agency’s Planning & Analytics for Total Health (PATH) program. In this role, Kate collaboratively supports employers to develop and execute strategies to control health care costs, improve health outcomes and promote employee engagement through analytics-based state of the art innovations and reporting.

Kate has more than 20 years of direct patient care experience as a registered nurse in the Emergency Department, Burn and Surgical ICU, and Acute Hemodialysis Specialty Team prior to moving to case management and the corporate setting.

During her tenure with a government contractor, she led clinical and non-clinical team members within a Total Rewards department. Her responsibilities were the management of the following programs; wellness, in-house disability, leave administration, workers compensation, reasonable accommodation requests, and clinical management for populations ranging from 5,000 to 20,000 employees. Additional clinical experiences were quality management, utilization review, and client consultation with employee health and benefits.

She earned an Associate’s Degree in Nursing from SUNY Morrisville and Bachelors in Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix. She is a Legal Nurse Consultant and an active member of the Alliance for Nursing Informatics policy committee.

Dr. Monte Masten, MD, MBA, MPH, FACOG
Chief Medical Officer Employee Health & Benefits
Dr. Monte Masten, MD, MBA, MPH, FACOG, serves as the Chief Medical Officer for Marsh & McLennan Agency. In this role, Dr. Masten leads the MMA Planning & Analytics for Total Health (PATH) team, which provides data analysis and health risk mitigation strategies for MMA clients.
Dr. Masten has over 25 years of leadership experience in patient care, consulting, managed care, population health management, and pharmacy management with diverse teams at national health plans, large employers, and health systems. Most recently, he was National Senior Medical Director, Clinical Transformation at Aetna based out of the Atlanta, GA office.
Dr. Masten earned his medical degree at Loyola University of Chicago, his MBA from University of Tennessee and his MPH from University of North Carolina. In addition, he earned a graduate certificate in Biomedical Informatics from Oregon Health and Sciences University.
